A 46 year old male has been found guilty of starting a fire in the pharmacy that he managed and has been told that he faces a prison sentence.
The manager was seen leaving the premises shortly before the fire broke out on the pharmacy’s own CCTV system. The manager also tampered with the alarm system to try to stop it activating; his attempts however did not work and members of the public raised the alarm to the Fire & Rescue Service.
Fire and Rescue Service Fire Investigation Officers worked closely with the Police to secure evidence and support a successful conviction.
The loss caused by the fire is estimated at £300,000
The individual will return to court for sentencing in May.
